Notice, Two Roses

Two red roses were wrapped gently in a bouquet
From one lover to another, both were to be given away

Both stems had slightly changed through their short life
Bent this way and that by the weather and the strife

In some places, it seemed, to be together they were born
while in other intersections, soft flesh was pricked by piercing thorn

Yet when the florist was through
one beautiful arrangement was the result of two

So like the combination of roses with different bends
We two could be a beautiful combination, both Lovers and Friends.

High school poetry from Aaron Wedemeyer. There's a cute little story about this one, but I'm not allowed to tell :-( But maybe if you ask nicely, he'll tell you.
